Aer Lingus are unhappy with Emerald over this problem at BRS specifically as they keep telling Emerald they have to adhere to the ticket conditions and allow changes at the check in desk. EI will be most interested to get another data point only a few days after telling emerald to stop refusimg to do it (for about the fifth time)

fartoomanyusers, I can certainly say they’ve been able to change flights there for at least 18 months as there was a period last year (after I complained and tbf EI were very responsive) when they were happy to make changes for “concierge, plus and advantage” as the check in agent put it. Changed at least 5 tickets last year.
Already did complain in writting. Concierge line refused to change the ticket with some bull answer that as the ticket was sold via a TA they are not going to support the earlier flight privilege (it was a single ticket on 053 stock, EI code). Ignores the fact the staff in BRS didn't even bother to check what ticket I had.

BRS staff member said they couldn't change any ticket full stop, I pressed the matter (knowing the history) and was told they have been unsuccessful in the past. I was only waiting 3 minutes on hold for the concierge line before they fobbed me off as well.

First step on a cancellation is to rebook to the next flight, priority to those with status and advantage/aer space fares. Only after that is exhausted do you go with different airports
