Ask for the department/procedure for submitting the correct number. You have no way of knowing how or when the incorrect number appeared in their records. I wouldn't even mention that aspect.

Parallel example from another bank. In this thread the poster reports that Chase told him that accounts could not be consolidated on a single login because "1 digit of SSN incorrect”

I have cards from Citi, Chase, BOA, etc., so I do not think that will be an issue. I am just afraid that since they have the incorrect SSN, they may accuse me of using an fraudulent SS; which of course, was not the case. I just do not want to open a Pandora's box. I really do not want to close all my cards, but I've seen an issue like this before. The strange thing is, they gave me the Personal Plat. last year. This only happened, the notice, when I applied for the AMEX Amazon Prime Bus. Card. Just a very strange situation, and I am not sure what the best way is to correct it. Not trying to game the system, I spend north of 100k a year on my accounts. I just do not know of a safe way to correct this issue on their end. I will also lose my Lowe's AMEX which will suck.
