I'm seeing this exact same issue. I have a new booking for next year, and if I put one person in 1E in the app, then 1A and 1D become blocked and the other person can only select 1L. If I put one person in 1A or 1E, then 1F and 1L become blocked, etc.
I wonder if this is due to them optimizing for the new cabin layout? It's not clear to me my flight will have it (from SFO, though next summer).
