Depends upon where you have to go. The Hilton is in between 2 office towers and is right on top of the NJ Turnpike entrance/exit. There is absolutely nothing nearby and going for a walk by crossing Route 18 is taking your life in your hands. As a matter of fact, you really can't walk anywhere except for around the property.
The Hyatt is in downtown New Brunswick and it's a fast, easy safe walk to restaurants or the train station to NYC. There's still not a whole lot to do here, but at least you have some options if on foot.
Both hotels are about 3 star and I didn't see much difference in the rooms.
