Chase Targeted Promo: Spend $600 on Chase Travel for $100 Back Strategy on UA
I am trying to figure out a strategy to utilize 2 spend $600 on Chase Travel for $100 back promos. They are on 2 different cards.

I understand there is no residual for UA FFC when booked via Chase Travel. I am would like to book 2 UA tickets each well over $600 on the same PBR. I much prefer to book them on the same PNR for reason of upgrade, irregular operation protection etc. Will the following work?
1) Book 2 separate random nonrefunable $600 UA tickets on 2 separate PNRs via Chase Travel.
2) Wait 24 hours then cancel on united.com. I should receive 2 no-residual FFCs.
3) Book a new PNR for the tickets I need on united.com with 2 passengers each using FFC + credit card.

Will this work?
