So if the restaurant server took your card inside and process it through a wireless card reader, you won't get the credit? amex also have similar wordings regarding wireless card reader for their resy credits, and we arent hearing any complaints about people not getting the credit due to wireless card reader
the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit the transaction to American Express (e.g. using mobile or wireless card readers), or you make a purchase using a third-party (e.g. a third-party payment platform or food delivery service)
the way i read it, it is just chase covering their bases like amex. they need to be able to identify the restaurant to issue the credit, and for some reason, it seems that when using wireless card reader, the merchant may appear as the 3rd party payment platform provider rather than the restaurant
chase doesnt need to know if customers dined in or takeout as it's payment where chase see the restaurant as the mrechant
