In this case you probably can take a bet - take 4 hours in between for instance, and if your Qatar flight is hopelessly late the worst damage is buying a new ticket CGK-DPS, a route with plenty of flights.
Thanks for the advice.

I was in CGK about 3 years ago and recall it was straightforward to get through immigration / customs. There are about 70 flights a day between CGK - DPS, so (as you say) it's easy to book a new flight if you are late arriving.
