in DFW, the train is airside, so it is better to re-enter the secured area and take the train to the appropriate terminal.
At ORD, getting between terminals outside security is a snap, the ATS train runs every 3 to 5 minutes and the travel time from T5 to T3 is 2 minutes. At DFW, on the other hand, there is no easy or fast way to get between terminals outside security; the Terminal Link Shuttle runs only every 15 - 20 minutes and the drive between terminals takes almost as long.
