Just as a datapoint, this past spring I had seven Chase business cards (and six personal). I applied for the Chase IHG business several months ago when the offer was 200,000. I was denied.

In response, closed four cards, two personal and two business- Chase sapphire preferred (when reached 48 months but we all know that rule has changed), air Canada (had already redeemed 200,000 points for pay yourself back) as well as ink cash and ink unlimited.

Last month I was approved for the chase ink cash as my 6th business card. I do have a legit business with a chase checking account so they see whatever I make and spend and therefore haven’t been audited yet. I am pushing up against $150,000 in credit limit, so I’m gonna ask for limits to be lowered before I try to get the sapphire business reserve- very much appreciate the datapoint they don’t like it when your aggregate limits over $150K.

I do easily spend over $50,000/ year on the chase Hyatt business to get globalist. I also spend $15,000 on the chase Hyatt personal. They may see me as an “good” customer for spending enough on their cards and holding my business checking account with them. Other than meeting offers, much of my other Credit card spend is with other banks (especially AMEX) chasing signup bonuses.
