the above reddit thread have posters suggesting you dont need a reservation, although unclear if they have gotten it or it is just their interpretation of chases’s t&c. if you read the t&c, it seems like you dont need to, because it said that credits may not apply to things like delivery, takeout. giftcards, etc, because the purchase may not be identifiable as being made directly with merchant, rather than they are just not eligible for the credit. the thing is these purchases do not need a reservation via opentable
To qualify, dining purchases must be identifiable by Chase as having been made directly with the select restaurants.
