When it came to CX, I had an extra word with the agent over my inability to amend my FFP online, when I had that ability as recently as a month ago.

The agent confirmed they did indeed put in anti-fraud procedures, “particularly when changing FFP to credit to other airlines’ programs”.

When I further mentioned I am unable to change FFP back to Cathay, for both cash and redemption, she said she was surprised - she thought I should have been able to “but maybe IT is now imposing a blanket ban”.
