While my account does not have mandatory 2FA yet, I do have the option of enabling it under Account Services. On the page to enable it, it has these instructions:
Step 1: Log In
Log in to your account with your User ID and password.
Step 2: Enter Code
Enter the verification code we'll send to your mobile number or email address.
We've Got Your Back
Tell us you trust this device. The next time you use it to log in, we'll just ask for your password.
Specifically, look at the last part. "Tells us you trust this device". Does this option not appear for you? While should ask you for 2FA the first time you log in from a device, you should have the option to disable this behavior for future visits on a trusted device. If that does not work for you, you should report it as a bug.
