I suspect this was £260 rather than £280, so the 50% cut for arriving early.

OP see above about Azurair, it's a complex area and CEDR is not guaranteed to pay the full £520. But the carrier surcharge in my view is part of the fare and should be refunded accordingly. CEDR has another inconsistent view of this, so in absolute terms you may be better off going via MCOL. But if going CEDR you need to really highlight how it's not a real tax and that it varies at BA's sole discretion, as an adjunct to the fare.
