I see the destination fees happening at "non-destinations" more and more. Just the past two weeks I saw them at Marriott SFO airport, Sheraton Phoenix Mesa, Marriott Houston Airport, and Westin Dallas.
Did not see a fee at the lower end hotels like the Courtyard but that might be coming soon.
The SFO airport confused me too - it's not a destination...
