Looking for some help from the experts here. I've submitted by SAUA request and the UA miles have been deducted from my account and I have been waitlisted for my NH flight. I have a few questions since I've not done this before:
1) What is the latest that the waitlist can clear? Is it 24 hours before the flight or all the way up to the gate?
2) If the upgrade clears, does someone (NH or UA) notify me? (Or do I have to just keep checking my reservation myself.)
3) Assuming the upgrade does clear, should I be on the lookout for anything specific to happen (for example, a new e-ticket to be issued)? If so and I don't receive a new e-ticket (or whatever I should get), do I contact UA or NH about this?

1) 24 hours prior for NH flights these days
2) UA will send an Email that it has cleared, but just in case, I'd check NH as well since the Email notification is sometimes broken
3) Nothing. You are all set. DO NOT ask for ticket re-issues. Call NH or check online and get yourself a seat in the upgraded cabin. Print any confirmation of the UGed cabin from NH in case there are challenges when checking in at the airport (rare, but it does happen)
