You could make the CEO/President vs. frontline staff argument with any large company in any industry. Consider what Per Bank, CEO of Loblaw, earns per year in salary and bonus compared with frontline staff at a local store. The frontline staff are obviously the ones with whom the public has daily contact and who affect the customer experience. Yet the argument would be that there are comparatively few people in Canada or North America who have the relevant experience and skill set to run a retailer the size of Loblaw, just as there are few individuals who have the skill set to run an international airline like Air Canada.
