Over 2 years after my 24-hour delay and my CTA complaint (which remains queued), I magically received this e-mail from AC today:

Dear Mr. ________,

I am reaching out to you as we would like to settle your case that is before the Canadian Transportation Agency, case number XX-XXXX.
After a further review of your case, we will be issuing you monetary compensation in the amount of $1,000.00 CAD via an interac e-transfer. A separate email will be sent shortly with the details.
Please confirm if there is anything further outstanding that I have overlooked.

We also request that you please inform the Canadian Transportation Agency that you wish to withdraw your claim for this specific matter as it has been settled. You can do so by emailing the Canadian Transportation Agency at [email protected].
We value your satisfaction and wish to resolve this matter amicably. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,
________
