I'm struggling to understand why flights aren't being cancelled yet, even after notice was given that operations are being shutdown. Spot checking overseas flights for Friday and Saturday, tickets are still being sold, and flight status acts like everything is just fine.
If there was a big blizzard in the forecast, or if a technical issue caused the grounding of a fleet, cancellations would be swift. Why are they dragging their feet here? Are they expecting the union to suddenly have a change of heart at the 11th hour and say "never mind, just kidding about that strike threat?"
