Lots of discussion/speculation on here about when (if?) BA are moving to T2. Seems there are 2 sticking points if Ive read the thread correctly. Firstly, the arrivals route through the terminal without the need to go through the border force. It seems from what people are saying this route is going to require a bus to the terminal and boarding cards to be scanned on arrival? Is this a certainty or speculation? Is it a bus OR scan boarding cards, as surely if being bussed it can be to a door without the need for checks. I noted above, a recent arrival in T2 without any queues took 45 mins to the train station. This compares to 15 mins current arrangements in T3 with hand baggage.
Then the lounge in T2
Speculation about a One World lounge
but surely this would take some time to commission and build. In the interim surely BA will just use Escspe or Aspire? Or maybe find the end of an empty corridor
Other than agreeing which lounge to use, is the infrastructure now up and running for BAs move, so its just a matter of agreeing a date and a lounge?
The management of Manchester airport is certainly peculiar to say the least. To build in essence a new terminal which doesn't have a seamless route for domestic passengers is inept. A bit like the decision 5 years ago to decommission the travelators from the station to T1. And recently we hear passengers to T3 will be using T1 check in
. And trekking via back routes to T3 due to another cost saving measure. All that money spent and no insight into passenger experience
.
