Apologies for selfish hijacking of the thread but it'll be my first trip for a while without status.
I understand the rule that on the return we can have lounge access in MAD as inbound in longhaul J to shorthaul Y. I doubt we will have a chance to use it much but just want to get home so went for shortes transfer and A350.

On the outbound, does the longhaul J we are connecting to have any impact at LHR? They are on separate tickets and we are not between flights so we won't have access is how I read that? I just wanted to double check.
