I've found Hertz.com to be one of the worst websites out there in terms of compatibility with security software (IE cookie blocking, firewalls and spyware/adware prevention programs). If you're running any of these (IOW, if you are practicing any kind of 'safe computing') you may run into problems with Hertz.com.
In terms of IE6 v. Firefox, I actually have had fewer problems with Hertz.com on Firefox once I got all my security programs set to allow Hertz to cookie the cr*p out of me.
