Yes, it has a marina, but San Diego has TONS of real resorts all over, with beaches, spas, golf courses, etc.
A 50-year-old hotel directly adjoining a noisy airport, that just happens to be adjacent to a marina and have a pool, is hardly a resort.
And I agree, the new name may repel expense account business travelers.
Perhaps you never noticed their magnificent golf course or lounged by their ocean front beach sipping
a pina colada as the sunsets
Or the exceptionally clean fresh airport air wafting into their luxury resort that makes you think your in Maui
