Translated into English it means. If you upgrade during the online checkin you get nothing. If you do it at the checkin counter or onboard the miles are the one from the original ticket/class. But you receive more points.

This is really interesting. Completely makes no sense for me.

I've contacted the Miles&More Service Team before and they've told me the following:


Please note that only award miles will be credited for cash upgrades at the airport. Status points cannot be credited.
