I’m guessing it’s just that they think the 25k SQD is enough to keep this demographic engaged with AC and anything after doesn’t help. And given the lack of CC rewards in Canada they may be right.
They will keep me engaged to 25k SQCs, but not beyond
Card 1. CIBC IP will be kept solely for business, its current use. Good for 18k SQCs pa
Card 2. TD IP kept for Visa versatility over Amex, kids have supplementary cards. AC spend will be moved to this and nothing else unless merchant does not accept Card 3.
Card 3. Currently Amex Reserve, this will go. Currently used for as much as possible.
Not sure what to replace it with.
Amex Plat?
RBC BA?
RBC WestJet for domestic flexibility?
Straight cash reward card?

I’m not going to jump in to any changes yet, I remain cautiously optimistic that Air Canada will tweak some of the new program, tweak in favour of us
