I’ve got a SC CX Priority Card that gets you 1 Asia Mile for every HK$2 spent
The SC website says:
For HKD8,000 accumulated eligible spending made directly with Cathay and HK Express, Cardholders can earn:
- Basic Miles: up to 1,333 Asia Miles (HKD6 = 1 Asia Mile for eligible HKD spending) and
- Extra Miles: 2,667 Asia Miles
- Cardholders can enjoy up to 2,667 extra Miles during each Promotion Period. Please refer to the terms and conditions for details.
I spend quite a fair amount on CX/UO flights, averaging HK$5-8k a month currently, yet when I get my credit card points, I feel the H$K2/1 mile is not reflected. Last month I spent HK$30,000 on a Cathay flight but got less than 11,000 points deposited for total day-to-day spend including on the CX flights. I don’t get it.
Is there a minimum cash spend on Cathay flights required per month? Are the bonus points deposited quarterly? Or do you have to spend HK$8,000 in one single transaction?
