Definitely worth spending the extra $2,000. You can get that back on your 300,000 mile threshold gift and it gives you 10 extra eUpgrades for next year. Also keep in mind that if you miss SE, AC will automatically use up one of your banked years - probably best to save that for when you are missing by a much wider margin.

Whatever you choose to do, 2MM looks like it should come about naturally over the next 1-2 years anyway without really trying. When it comes, it does give you the opportunity to gift E50K for life to someone which still has (some) value.
