Hm essentially 130+ XP to go in Fall to secure year 8....which with luck can be done via already planned travel.....top up the XP to at least 300 this year by buying SAF or mile donations....and then 600 XP to go for PFL. If done solely on mileage runs say 6000 Euro. But a significant part probably can be covered by planned travel, XPs gained by credit card, and creative bookings (e.g. premium economy, Aeromexico J, an occasional holiday half used as mileage run). As indicated, 2.5 years is an overseeable period in terms of program changes - unlikely FB will play the nasty tricks BA did to its members with regard to life time qualification. Having PFL at around age 40.....that is decades of perks unless AF/KL disappear at some point. If I were in that situation, I would probably go for it.
