I knew I'd find my way back here someday to this sketchy HP on the Beltway. I "stayed" here for 3-4 nights in early 2021 to help hit Globalist for the first time. Now I'm still a Glob, but one that might be a couple nights short of 60 and definitely a couple nights short of the current HP/HH promo, so armed with a $65/nt corporate code (the public rate was a bank breaking $76 for these weekday nights), I was back for 2 nights.

On the plus side, they have substantially renovated the guest rooms. Gone is the gross carpet, though that's still in the halls. Faux wood, newish furnishings, same terrible shower - as noted above its very narrow and has a useless Euro-like half door.

Now to the amenities. I love a pool, but this one the water wasn't super clear and I didn't feel like getting in. All of the ~8 chairs are in some degree of disrepair. The fitness center was pretty limited. Had 5 dumbbells: a set of #45, a set of #50, and one lonely #20. Believe it or not, the Peloton seemed to work. Two treads and an elliptical.

The bar didn't seem to be operational, but I also didn't try. The menu at the front desk says they sell these 6 types of beer, along with an extensive menu of chicken fingers and fries.

I sampled breakfast on the morning of my last day to collect the laundry I'd left in the room. I will say, I was expecting worse. The eggs, turkey sausage were fine, the same as you'd find at any HP or Hampton Inn. To my surprise they had pico, guacamole, shredded cheese. Didn't take pictures of the oatmeal, whole fruit or the bread and cereal corner.

All that to say, you could probably do worse in this part of town hotel wise, but I probably wouldn't recommend it either unless you needed to be in this area or really wanted to save $. They say there is an airport shuttle, but the sign at the front desk says to schedule your return trip a day in advance, and I never saw a shuttle bus on property, so no idea how it works. Now that the Hyatt Regency by the airport is no more (reflagged as a Sonesta last year) this is pretty much the only Hyatt between Downtown and the Woodlands on this side of the city.
