IHG Hotels & Resorts and Felix Capital will develop the Crowne Plaza Maroochydore on Ocean Street, Sunshine Coast.

The hotel will have 180 rooms, over 770 m² of meeting and event facilities (including a 600 m² ballroom), a 30-metre pool and spa, wellness retreat, gym, sauna, and two levels of secure basement parking.

Food and beverage options will include a 210-seat all-day restaurant, a 160-seat signature dining venue, a pool bar and lounge, and a lobby bar.


The project replaces a previous plan for a voco hotel, shifting focus towards conference and event facilities in response to regional demand.

Construction is scheduled to start in early 2026, with opening planned for 2028.

This is the second IHG–Felix Capital collaboration, following Holiday Inn & Suites Caloundra, set to open in 2030.
