I have an offer on my platnium card for the Peninsula hotels. Spend $500 get a $100 credit. It says you have to book with hotel. Can I book via Amex FHR and just not do the prepay offer with the 5x Amex points and instead trigger the amex offer and still get the the benefits associated with FHR along with triggering the $200 hotel credit on the plat card for booking via amex travel? Also if the room comes out to less than $500 including taxes etc can I just charge things to the room to make up the difference and trigger the credit that way?
