ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa [Master Thread]

Detailed review of my stay in August 2025
What is your IHG One Rewards status?
Diamond Royal Ambassador Inner Circle

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, very pleasant and convenient hotel.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest rate and received 2 single Premium Minifridge High Floor.

At check-in, I was offered the option of switching to a double bed for my second night, but I decided to keep my room as I was very happy with it.
I had been concerned that the single beds might be too narrow, but that wasn’t the case.

How are the rooms?
Around 29 sqm
Quite elegantly designed.
I have a real fondness for those small, typically Japanese design touches and objects, which I find absolutely charming.

Comfortable bed.
usb sockets next to the bed.

Seating area along the window.
Table

Tiny bathroom with walk-in shower.
Antipodes toiletries.
Toto washlets

Dehumidifier, purifying spray, pyjamas, bathrobe.

No Nespresso coffee machine (only kettle).
Minifridge.

Very quiet.
View over the city.

Television with basic selection of international channels.

No Chromecast.
No free PressReader.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
GOOD
Very friendly staff

Very good breakfast.Different food stations.
Charming Japanese restaurant with a view over a lovely garden.
Easy and direct access from Kanazawa station.

BAD
Nothing

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
Hotel is surprisingly very cheap.

This is very much the kind of hotel where you get a comfortable, well-equipped and quiet room with a lovely view over the city.

It is literally right next to the station, which is extremely convenient when arriving by Shinkansen.

It’s not a trendy property – it’s a traditional hotel – but its great strength lies in the outstanding quality of service. Everyone is genuinely attentive.

I also very much enjoyed the breakfast, which offered a varied selection and, once again, was served by delightful staff.
There was a whole range of local dishes on offer, which was excellent, along with the expected egg station – and more besides.

All of this makes the hotel particularly charming and easy to grow fond of.

There is also a Docomo bike station right next door, perfect for exploring the city, which is absolutely beautiful.
