At least, that's how I'm screenwriting it...
Yes, this is exactly what happened. She believed that even though her mother no showed, the seat would be kept free because she had paid for it and it was non-refundable. And therefore that she could move her husband to the empty seat from his seat in WTP. (I think he was always in WTP and she was treating her mother to Club).
