For me it's usually the phone numbers. New TY account tend to have just my mobile number, while existing one has both home number (a required field) and mobile number filled.

And you don't have to pay with a Citi card, so say you have a Chase offer for Best Buy, you can pay with a Chase card and still get the cashback on the enrolled Citi card.
