By some miracle it appears I'll hit Gold status this year. I think I want to hold onto the card for another year then since I'll maintain the same lounge access I currently have (guests included which is important). Does Chase still do promotions every so often for the card? Right now there's a spend $1000, earn 3000 mile promotion which I think I can complete.

The plan will be to cancel this card and apply for a Club card next year for the sign-up/PQP bonus assuming it's still offered. I'm not really worried about the credit history.
