Lots of us spend OPM (other people's money). My spend on the premium cards is roughly $750K/year (most of it on behalf of my employer). It used to be enough to get me from the 50K sqm earned by flying to the SE threshold and occasionally to the banked year threshold. I usually just barely tipped over the 20K sqd threshold with a mix of short haul comfort and J fares so i needed the sqm.
