The first three 738 aircraft to get a cabin refresh did in fact have one aft lav removed. But the exit row configuration remained the same and these aircraft retained 12 F seats. At this point AS decided to pause reconfigurations for a while, so these three a/c were flying around with an outlier configuration. The new exit row configuration came about when AS decided to retain the 3 aft lavs and return F to the 16F configuration. I don’t know for sure, but I would assume AS plans to reinstall the extra lav in the aircraft where it was removed for fleet consistency.
Yeah, all that reconfiguration did was remove the lavatory and add 3 seats, and just reupholster/update the current seats. Nothing compared to what the new retrofit program is doing.
