As a current SE mostly fly SFO-YYZ (1-2 times every month using flex flight pass) with 1-2 long haul family trips per year. I usually will comfortably end up at 75k and thanks to Chase AC upgrade me to SE.

with the new system, I just don’t think it’s feasible for my spending habits to reach SE (or even 75k)

(percentage to reach 75k)

SFO-YYZ round trip is about 4500 miles (6% sqm to 75k) with SQD about $800(8.8%) for flex flight pass (or a bit higher if no discount) with some credit card spending, reaching 75k is simple.

with the new system, it’s 3200 SQC (4.2%). I don’t think it’s possible for me to reach even 75k in 2026.

with the miles, it’s even worse. It used to credit me 4500 points. But I only get 4800 if I’m SE and much less otherwise. It’s not even counting 100% boost from SE select benefit today.

time for research for my flight plan in 2026.
