I really don't see the point in displaying the total price, as the cheapest return is invariably at a time you don't want to take... And it's now impossible to book a higher fare class on the outbound (e.g. for applying GGUs) as the system reverts back to the lowest fare on the outbound as soon as you select the return

BTW: of course you can avoid this by booking separate PNRs for outbound and return, but not when using the BoA companion fare. And of course you'll nicely ignore the displayed roundtrip price by doing that
