I want to transfer my Amex points into QR avios but at this time it's only possible for me to transfer those for BA avios.
Am I correct that I could transfer those Avios, generated with Amex, eventually into QR Avios? Furthermore, I don't have a BA FFP account right now. I do have a QR one (Silver - OW Ruby).
Would BA allow me to open a BA account, just for the sake of me using it to transfer the Amex points into Avios with BA that I would transfer then to QR? Ive read stories in the past where BA would block Avios transactions of accounts without prior activity, which has me worried.

Would it be a better strategy to just open up an account with BA, credit one of my next OW flights onto that, just for the sake that there was activity on the account, then transfer Amex points to BA and move everything to QR?

Maybe I'm overcomplicating things or looking over things, so any insight would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance!
The only problem you potentially have when transferring miles into a new account is if it flags a fraud marker and your account gets locked.
The problem is not so much with the age of the account as the activity of transferring miles in from somewhere and then transferring them on again to a partner very quickly (which is obviously what a fraudster would do).
You should be able to open a new account and transfer the miles in from Amex straight away (many people do this) but it might be a good idea to leave it a week or two before then trying to transfer them on to QR.
