I’ve often had trouble getting hotels to honor the 50% dining discount. Many would suddenly claim exclusions or come up with other excuses. Personally, I find the 15% year-round discount globally much more valuable—especially since I rarely eat at hotel restaurants unless the property is in a remote area with no other options.
But is the 15% discount actually reduction? or am I confusing it with the old Accor Plus rules in China? I seem to recall getting a stack of 10% off for Platinum status plus 10% from Accor Plus. Was that only in China, or did it apply across all of Asia?
For me, the best value still comes from the Red Hot Rooms. I keep a tour agent code linked to my ALL account so I can compare industry rates. Every now and then, I find Red Hot Rooms priced even lower than those travel agent rates, which really shows their value.
