I havent seen any recent reviews/comments/experiences on the area (the Napa comments from a search seem to be less than ideal and pre-COVID)
planning on using free night certificates....a lounge would be nice?

The Napa Marriott has a lounge; the Sonoma Lodge does not.
The Marriott is more of a suburban-style typical Marriott across the street from a Target whereas the Lodge has a bit more of a "resort" feel due to its layout of separate buildings. The Lodge is also closer to "downtown" Sonoma than the Napa marriott is to downtown Napa. The Westin Verasa is closer to town.
For a getaway, I actually enjoy the Trio (RI) Healdsburg more than either of those.
