I don't know why this place has such a bad reputation on FT. We just completed a three-night stay, and I thought that at 200-ish GBP, it's stellar value (vs. Churchill and IC 600-ish). Many seem to be hating on the location, but we found it quite easy to get around by bus, tube, and the occasional Uber. I have relatively limited experience with the London Hyatts, but have walked from IC or Sheraton Park Lane to Green Park many times, and really, how much worse is getting from HR Albert Embankment to Vauxhall? Sure, if you're in London for work, you'll want to be close to where you need to be, but for tourists, the Albert Embankment location is fine, especially considering that it comes with a very pleasant view and excellent hard product that far eclipses the tiny and terribly run-down rooms I've found myself in at Churchill, IC and Sheraton. I stayed here when the hotel was a Crowne Plaza, and it was an odd one out back then, with finishings way above that brand's standards (really in a different league, along with CP Causeway Bay HK).
I received a high floor Deluxe Balcony river view as Glob (xx07), and the second room (GOH) was upgraded to a Deluxe with river view (xx06). Both rooms aren't huge, but comfortable enough and the floor-to-ceiling windows are amazing and the view excellent. Unfortunately, the balcony is not equipped with chairs and a table, but it's an ideal spot to watch the sunset.
We received certificates for the club replacement at Potus resaurant for both rooms. There's a limited menu of drinks and small plates. It's ok, obviously far below the amazing lounge at the IC, but no worse than say HR Birmingham or Paris. Same stuff every day, no rotation. Staff are a bit off here, and service is slow.
Breakfast was also served at Potus. Weekdays until 10am, weekends until 11am. It's an ok buffet that doesn't change. It's also possible to order on-demand items (Eggs Benedict and the like), but they don't exactly go around advertizing this. Here, too, service is slow.
Overall, I wouldn't be deterred by the location, and if you go in with the right expectations regarding club/breakfast/staff, it's quite decent at the price point. And the view is excellent for visitors. My elderly parents enjoyed it immensely, and my SO told me that she prefers the river view to the IC (although I'm gonna have to overrule her -on account of the amazing club lounge- when rates are reasonable there).
