I also don't think it should be controversial to say that if you're a frequent flyer, regardless of financial resources, you should already have a strategy for hotel booking in the event of a forced overnight - whether that be travel insurance, credit card insurance, or hotel/credit card points - particularly if you fly frequently within the US, since most of the time the airline is not going to be responsible.
So if you book your own hotel room using hotel points, how do you file a claim with insurance (or the airline itself)?
