I hit 100K in May and chose the Lounge+ pass for my gift; within minutes on the app my Lounge pass showed an expiration date of December 2026. So yes - while it does say a year from date of choice, it does expire at the end of the year.
That makes this an extremely valuable benefit. For those that hit 100K early at least
