Prior to the AA partnership, JetSmart had no FFP and little interest in one.
They are a ULCC so ancillary revenue is key to their business model. They are not just going to give that revenue up because someone is elite.
I would speculate that even when fully implemeted, the JetSmart AAdvantage elite benefits will be limited - probably something like 50% off seat selection and checked bagagge not free.
Agreed, in general ULCCs don’t offer frequent flyer benefits. It makes complete sense to me, using AAdvantage as their currency is easier than trying to start their own, and incentivizes AA elites and members to use JS over competitors when in South America. I don’t think they’re really worried about the other way around.
