Holiday Inn Frankfurt Airport

What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
In general yes.

Stayed there for one night as I catched up with friends and try out the rooftop bar of the b’mine hotel next door.

I checked in at 16:10. Two agents were on duty and checked in other guest, but the waiting time was not long. I had already noticed in the app that I was upgraded to a Premium Room. The agent checking me called it executive room and the sign below the room number at the room. Status was also recognized, and I was asked about my choice of Diamond Amenity. I choose the points. This was not my first stay, and I have so far always received an upgrade. Given my usual early departures, I usually skip breakfast. For this stay, I could have had breakfast, but I wanted to maximize my sleeping time.

Check out was fast and friendly as well.

I booked a Standard Room on an flexible rate for 98 EUUR.

The hotel is built around a courtyard. The rooms facing the courtyard might be more quiet, but also lack view and also are especially on the lower floor a bit dark.

A small fitness center is available in the basement.

Breakfast is served from 06:00 to 10:00 on weekdays and till 11:00 on weekends. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar on the ground floor next to the check-in area. There is also a small shop where you can buy beverages.

The lobby is larger and partly open to the bar and the restaurant.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard and received Executive Room at one of the corners of the hotel.

How are the rooms?
The rooms begin to show a little bit of wear and tear, but nothing serious and you have to search for it.

The premium room assigned for upgraded are usually those at the corner. There is a longer hallway, but the room itself has not much more space than the standard rooms.

The room has a large bed with two bedside tables. An armchair with a lamp was placed in front of the windows, which could be opened.

A Desk with a power outlet was placed opposite the bed. The real desk was nice to have. Internet speed was okay. Auto-connect worked. The is a also small closet which features the in room safe. USB charging outlets are missing at the desk (and at the bedside table – in short there are none)

The Minibar comes with drinks (two juice, two water, two coke and two beer (one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic.

Water pressure of the shower was good. Despite the open shower the bathroom did not get flooded. A big non-heated mirror was also available. Shower gel, conditioner, shampoo and lotion were wall mounted (Dove). The bottle with body lotion was empty.

The room had blinds which darken the room.

The fully flexible rate was 98 EUR

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Rooms are of good size with real desk
Good connection to public transport
Upgrade to premium / executive room with free minibar
Windows could be opened
Staff is friendly and helpful

Neutral
body lotion was empty

Design of the room (larger room but the room itself is not larger, the additional space is the longer hallway)

Bad

Lack of USB Ports

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Staff is friendly, and location is good (bus stop next to roundabout, S-Bahn Gateway Gardens is a short three-minute walk.

Rooms are nice, and status recognition is good. Rates are not that often below 100 EUR. Staff is friendly, and the room show only a little bit of wear and tear and are very comfortable. The real desk is nice if you must work. The lack of USB ports is not so nice. In general a nice hotel, not only, if you have an early departure and / or late arrival but also if you want to visit Frankfurt.

A video of room centre is available
