Recent T1 arrival - mid afternoon. US (and many other) passports routed to E-gates. Those machines are finicky but still, pretty quick. Then the walk to Latin America baggage arrivals is a convoluted mess. And then there aren't enough carousels, and then only 2 X-ray customs stations, and the Priority bag tags were for decorative purposes only. The Uber XLs had a fare that wasn't too far off from the Sitio airport booths, and we have a lot of luggage, so we took one of those services. Disembarking plane to in a car - took too long but not unexpected. I've had worse MEX arrivals!
Thanks again for reporting back. They don't really monitor those customs X-ray machines very well. Too many bags go through at once. Basically impossible. At least they've toned down the hands on checks after customs X-ray pulling out everything and you have to get everything back and nothing fits.😭😄. I've been lucky about 90% of the time in having priority bags arrive first. But it doesn't matter when customs ends up searching them taking up extra time.
It will be a quiet weekend in CDMX since there's only two Anti-gentrification events to occur, one small demonstration north of Reforma for one neighborhood and only a pre-planning meeting in Doctores. So your stay should be uneventful.
