The correct answer it 'nobody knows'. These things are complex and just because the membership have voted to provide a strike mandate doesn't mean there will be a strike. Likewise, just because there is a date upon which they can legally strike doesn't mean that they will on that day, or any day. They may put a potential new agreement in front of the members which they may reject, that doesn't mean that they are necessarily going to strike the next day, or any day. The CUPW workers at Canada Post just rejected the latest offer from management today, however, I'm pretty sure I'm still getting mail on Tuesday, but you never know. Bottom line, sit down and put your seat belt on because it might be a bumpy ride. And if your risk tolerance is low, then book away from AC, which is not something I'm doing.
