I'm having a hard time figuring out where the value of the Luxury Limited lies for an ordinary consumer–someone who benefits from status in some way because they don't/can't buy business class seats themselves, or values mileage earning.

¥599,500 could buy you (for example) somewhere between 40 and 50 HND-ITM Special Saver flights. That alone wouldn't get you to Sapphire, but at least you'd rack up LS Points and a modest number of miles, which in my opinion is a more effective use of that much money.

Someone who wants to drop a significant amount on an annual fee card could spring for the Amex Platinum, which would grant access to the Centurion Lounge at HND and the typical credit card domestic lounges in Japan.

These cards cater to the wealthy, but I feel like they either would have JGC status already or can outright buy C/F seats (often with that same ¥599k)?
