I booked a flight with Swiss several months ago and paid for Advanced Seat Reservation when booking and chose my preferred seats which were the first row of Classic Seats.

Now the flight is next week and I went to just confirm everything in the booking and noticed our seats have changed and we’ve been moved several rows back, not what we originally paid for (in my mind anyway). The row we originally chose have now become Preferred Seats.

I contacted Swiss and they said we didn’t actually pay for the seats we picked, we only paid for a Classic Seat and that Swiss can move us to any Classic Seat without notifying us and change a seats category without notice.

Is this right?

Seems like paying for seats is a scam if they can do this after they take your money!
